This printed C case serves as epilogue to the award-winning two-part multimedia case of the same title. Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, was widely known as one of the top four-season resorts in the world. It was also highly regarded for its commitment to a triple bottom line: Economy, community, and environment. The community used a systems approach to evaluate decisions affecting its future growth. In 2002, it was among the finalists chosen to host the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. In the A case, the community must decide whether it should pursue the opportunity by submitting a final bid. In the B case, the community faces new challenges as a result of that decision. The Whistler story provides a remarkable example of sustainability principles put into practice?told through on-site video interviews, animation, interactive exhibits, and text, including a glossary of sustainability terms.
