Overview
A large U.S. regional bank has been approached by Manufacturer's Hanover Trust to participate in a syndicated loan to Turkey's central bank in 1984. The chief credit officer of the bank is receiving conflicting advice on whether to participate in the syndicate. The decision is affected not only by economic and political conditions in Turkey, but also by the bank's financial position and exposure in Latin America.
