Product Overview

The company's forecasting process and its production planning and distribution system have created an inventory management crisis for the plant manager of the Southhampton operations. The senior management established an "agile thinking team." The Team's findings are discussed and now the plant manager must decide how to proceed. Students are asked to think through the application of lean thinking, value streams, waste reduction and lean production systems in a distribution environment. An implementation plan is required for the transition to a lean enterprise.
