Following renovations to the Geary Theatre, including a new seating plan, ACT executives must determine a sensible way to price subscriptions for the coming season. ACT must first decide whether or not to raise prices in general, a decision that must be made against the (perhaps conflicting) objectives of maximizing revenue, on the one hand, and trying to fill the theatre, on the other. Other complications must be considered as well, including how to scale the house, the type of series, day of the week, time of day, and seating location. Decisions about these variables then affect the ticket prices for single-show ticket buyers, as well as for subscription buyers.
